March 3rd, and the first signs of spring are here in northwest Nevada! 65 degrees and sunny today- I got the girls, Nicole (silver bagger) and Stoya (blue 33 year old rocket) out of the garage, fired them up and got some saddle time in! Both ran likes champs, although Stoya is hard to start and takes 15 minutes to warm up before she wants to run. Had Nicole out for an hour, ran down to Harbor Freight to size up the MC lift I'm buying next weekend. Then took Stoya out around the neighborhood, just to get the cobwebs out. Her front fork seals are shot, and she dives for the pavement when I hit the front brakes. Overall she runs strong, but is pretty shaky to ride. That's OK, because she goes on the table in the next few weeks, gets torn down, re-wired, cleaned up and installed on new frame- I'm converting her to a hard tail bobber. Hopefully all done before the end of the riding season here in Nevada. But there's always Nicole to ride....
