Took my 11 year old son Sawyer out for his first big motorcycle ride yesterday. He has been afraid to get on the back until now- but when I said I was doing an organized group ride for fallen soldiers (www.tributetofallensoldiers.com) he said he would try it out. We did a test ride Thursday evening and he loved it so we were good to go Saturday morning. Escorted ride by Washoe County Motor Officers, and 2 National Guard Humvee's. 75 bikes, 170 miles and 6 hours on the road- to honor 8 Gold Star families from the northern Nevada area. Great day, excellent ride from Reno, up the 431 to Incline Village, then on to South Lake Tahoe for a bbq. Around Emerald Bay along the west shore to Truckee, then down the 80 back to Reno. He did great, and can't wait to hit the road again...
